About Chiropractic on Collins

Chiropractic on Collins sits on the corner of Collins and Victoria Streets in the heart of Hobart's CBD, diagonally opposite Fuller's Bookshop. The practice is led by Dr Tim O'Connor, who returned to his home state of Tasmania in 2015 after six years caring for families on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, and who expanded the business in 2023 by opening a sister clinic, Sorell Chiropractic. Care here is drug-free and surgery-free, centred on the spine and nervous system, and the practice welcomes people of all ages, from birth onwards.

Three chiropractors practise at the clinic. Dr Tim holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) and a Masters in Clinical Chiropractic from RMIT University in Melbourne and is a member of the Australian Chiropractors Association, with a solid grounding in gentle, low-force care for infants and children. Dr Liesel Gardener graduated from the Phillip Institute of Technology, now RMIT, and worked throughout the United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland before settling in Hobart, with a particular focus on low-force approaches. Dr Inica Castle graduated from RMIT in 1999 and established her own practice in Geelong before moving to Tasmania in 2021 and joining the team in 2024; also an ACA member, she has a special interest in women's health, family health and wholefood nutrition. Practice manager Sarah heads the chiropractic assistant team.

Fees are published openly. From 1 July 2025 a new patient consultation is $120, the report of findings at the second visit is $85 and a regular adjustment is $70, with concession, student and under-18 rates of $65, $61 and $57. Private health extras rebates are claimed on the spot through HICAPS or Tyro, and Department of Veterans' Affairs card holders with an appropriate referral from their GP are seen at no out-of-pocket expense. Where imaging is needed, patients are referred to a radiology practice that bulk bills Medicare card holders. The team serves Hobart city workers, residents and families across the greater Hobart area.
